- CBT Therapist

Alison is a qualified CBT Therapist and works with individuals over 18.

Alison trained as a CBT Therapist following a 30-year performing and coaching career in the arts, gaining a BSc Hons in Psychology (2015) followed by a Certificate in Counselling Skills (2017) and a Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (2019).

Alison’s warm, empathetic approach welcomes clients from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences into a safe space where they can begin to make positive change in their lives.

During your sessions, Alison will help you to manage your problems by helping you recognise how your thoughts can affect your feelings and behaviour.   CBT combines a cognitive approach (examining your thoughts) with a behavioural approach (the things you do).   It aims to break overwhelming problems down into smaller parts, making them easier to manage.  By helping you to understand any negative thought patterns you have, Alison will support you in understanding how these affect you and most importantly, what you can do to change them.

Alison works with people who have anxiety and/or depression and works with individuals to improve their overall wellbeing both at home and work.
