Biography

Sue is a trained counsellor, accredited by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) with over ten years’ therapeutic experience.  Sue originally trained as a person-centred counsellor and now works in an integrative manner using a mix of therapeutic approaches to suit the individual and unique needs of the client she is working with in her private practice based within Jesmond Therapy Centre.  Sue is also an EMDR Therapist and Relationship Therapist as well as being an experienced Counselling Supervisor and Trainer, delivering courses on the Jesmond Therapy Centre Training Programme.

In addition to her private practice Sue has also worked for Northumbria Police for the past nine years.  Originally gaining vast experience working as Senior Occupational Health Counsellor before moving on to become Force Wellbeing Manager and Trauma Risk Management Co-ordinator and Trainer before securing her current position as Force Trauma Lead.

Prior to working for Northumbria Police Sue worked for many years as a parenting specialist within the Youth Offending Service where her work received National recognition. Sue is also a published author and has a real passion for trauma and bereavement work.
